What you need to measure
Measure each wall width and height in feet. Note doors and windows — you still buy paper for those sections but pattern matching affects drop length.
Check the wallpaper label for roll width (usually 20.5" or 27"), roll length (often 33 ft), and pattern repeat (vertical distance before the pattern repeats).
Pattern repeat adds waste
Solid or random-match papers waste less. A 24-inch pattern repeat on a 96-inch wall means each drop is cut longer to align the pattern — leftover increases.
Rule of thumb: add 10–15% waste for plain paper, 15–25% for large repeats. Our wallpaper calculator handles repeat math automatically.
Buy an extra roll
Keep one unopened roll from the same dye lot for future repairs. Stores may not stock the same batch later.
